Question:

What was the Eastern Front?

Answer:

Show Answer

The Eastern Front was the border of Germany and Russia. On the Eastern Front, the trench lines were not so well developed and many large battles were fought in open country including Gumbinnin, Tannenberg, and 1st and 2nd Lake Maursian. The Germans defeated the Russian army so badly that no invasion of Germany was attempted by the much larger Russian army. See WWI warfare and The War in Europe.
