Amendments to the US Constitution, Question:
Amendment X states: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." What does this mean?
The 10th amendment states that for governing people if it isn't given to the U.S. government in the constitution then the states have that power. States rights were very important and one of the causes of the Civil War.
