Ancient Rome

Brutus, Cassius, and many other Roman senators were afraid that Julius Caesar was going to declare himself king. The worried that the Roman Republic would end. So they conspired together and on March 15, the Ides of March, they stabbed Caesar on the steps of the Senate building.
