Race relations in the cities underwent a revisal. African Americans, Orientals, and other ethnic minorities had good jobs and thus money to spend. With this increased prosperity, people came in contact with other races religions, creeds and ethnicities through social events and in other activities. This contact eased and lessened hostilities.
